The Cleveland Browns entered the 2026 NFL Draft needing to add some weapons to their offense. They needed to be able to give whoever was their quarterback this season the best chance at success, and that meant giving him players around him to succeed. One of those players they felt like could help matters was Texas A&M's KC Concepcion. The former NC State skill player turned Aggie showcased a unique skillset in college that was headlined by the fact that every time he touched the ball, he could score. Fast forward a few months from the Browns drafting him in Round 1, and they are so far seeing that exact same thing through training camp and the first preseason game. Head coach Todd Monken spoke to the media about that exact x-factor that Concepcion brings on Monday. Monken stated, "I hope we're trying to give the balls off as we can. I mean, that dude is explosive. He's tough. He's got great contact balance. He understands situational football. Part of that is part of the charm."
Browns coach Todd Monken on using KC Concepcion as a punt returner: “We want to get him the ball as much as we can … he’s gonna be a real weapon.” pic.twitter.com/e38jkykKBL — Daniel Oyefusi (@DanielOyefusi) August 17, 2026 The charm of Concepcion is that he's the type of player every team is dying for in today's NFL. He is a throwback type to the extent that we don't see them come into the league very often. When Deebo Samuel joined the San Francisco 49ers, he was the x-factor for Kyle Shanahan and their offense. Going even further back, Percy Harvin was that for the Minnesota Vikings when they drafted him as a top pick in 2009. It's one preseason game, but between what they showed in the game and the film has shown, he could be the next player to come along that is an x-factor for his team the same way the previous two were.
