Three additional matchups have been locked in to complete the lineup for ONE Fight Night 47 on Prime Video, which broadcasts live in U.S. primetime from Bangkok’s legendary Lumpinee Stadium on Friday, September 4.
Joining the previously announced Stamp Fairtex vs. Selina Flores and Jaosuayai vs. Jordan Estupinan bouts, along with the four MMA and submission grappling clashes already confirmed, this trio of additions gives fans plenty more reason to circle the date.
Ryohei Kurosawa meets Fabio “The Giant” Henrique in a strawweight MMA war. “The Eagle” Mohamed Younes Rabah collides with Ricardo Bravo in a featherweight Muay Thai clash. And finally, former ONE Strawweight Muay Thai World Title challenger “El Jefe” Ellis Badr Barboza rounds things out against Elmehdi “The Sniper” El Jamari in a strawweight Muay Thai battle.
Kurosawa returns to action looking to halt a rough patch. A former Pancrase Strawweight Champion, the 33-year-old has carved out a reputation for crisp striking paired with sharp submission instincts.
The Japanese star’s world-class skill set was on full display during his victorious promotional debut against Jayson “Dumagmang Warrior” Miralpez at ONE Friday Fights 124. Unfortunately, he couldn’t keep that momentum going against Bokang “Little Giant” Masunyane and Keito “Pocket Monk” Yamakita.
He is eager to turn things around in a stacked division and show he still belongs among its best, though he can expect stiff resistance from Henrique.
The 34-year-old Brazilian returns armed with confidence after earning the 12th highlight-reel win of his career at ONE Fight Night 43 this past May. He finished former ONE Strawweight MMA World Champion Yosuke “The Ninja” Saruta via second-round TKO.
Building on that momentum would put him a step closer to the strawweight crown that looked far out of reach after a rocky start to his promotional tenure against in-form South Korean powerhouse Lee “The Flash” Seung Cheol.
Rabah, on the other side of the card, is out to remind the division of the danger he still carries.
The 29-year-old Algerian, who trains under Team Mehdi Zatout, has made his name off a heavy reach advantage and punishing knees, tools that once carried him to statement wins over Eddie Abasolo and Saemapetch Fairtex.
He now aims to silence any doubt about where he stands in a weight bracket that has not slowed down without him. But Bravo’s knockout power carries danger that could prevent “The Eagle” from returning with a bang.
The Argentine steps back with redemption on his mind and a chance to extend his 100 percent finishing rate in the organization. He exploded onto the ONE Championship scene with three successive finishes, but the Buenos Aires native has yet to get his hand raised since.
Rounding out the card, Barboza takes on El Jamari in a battle loaded with finishing ability on both sides.
Barboza, a former WBC European Muay Thai Champion, has built a reputation for delivering fireworks every time out, though his recent stretch has swung between big highs and tough setbacks.
That said, the Englishman remains only one of two fighters who have beaten newly crowned ONE Interim Strawweight Muay Thai World Champion Aliff Sor Dechapan on the global stage.
El Jamari, for his part, is chasing the kind of statement win that changes the conversation entirely. The 29-year-old Moroccan made an unforgettable first impression in his promotional bow, starching fan-favorite Thongpoon PK Saenchai in one round at ONE Fight Night 30.
Now, after a difficult run against two of strawweight’s finest – Aliff and former two-sport, two-division ONE World Champion Sam-A Gaiyanghadao – he will look to rediscover that same explosive form.
