Oregon State Beavers linebacker arrested, accused of felony assault

An Oregon State linebacker, one of Beavers football's top defensive players, was arrested Aug. 11 on suspicion of assaulting two men in early April, according to court records. Aiden Sullivan, 22, was charged with second-degree assault, a felony, and two counts of fourth degree assault, court records show. He pleaded not guilty to all charges Aug. 11. Sullivan was at the Beavers' morning practice Aug. 14, an OSU Athletics spokesperson said. Sullivan allegedly punched a man in the face April 5, which may have caused the alleged victim to fall. Sullivan allegedly injured another man but court records did not provide details. Corvallis Police Department Officers arrested Sullivan Aug. 10 and took him to the Benton County Jail. Sullivan was released with a bail of $50,000 Aug. 11. His mother, Rahnna Sullivan, posted a $5,000 deposit, court records show. He was released on the conditions that he must not contact the two alleged victims, use or possess intoxicants or visit establishments that sell intoxicants, court records show. Sullivan's next hearing is a status check Aug. 25. Sullivan transferred to Oregon State from Butte College in California after the 2023 season and has played 16 games with the Beavers. He's considered one of the top returning defensive players on the Oregon State football team this fall. Sullivan was among the program's leaders in tackles in 2025 and is slated as an impact starter and a key piece of head coach JaMarcus Shephard's defense come the Beavers' first game Sept. 5 at Houston. Sullivan's future in Corvallis was up in the air following coaching changes at Oregon state during the offseason but he chose to stay on the team after he was persuaded by the new staff's energy and presence. "It was really hard actually, it was a really touch decision," Sullivan said at the Beavers' media Day Aug. 7 at Reser Stadium. "I'm just grateful for the opportunity to be here, I love being at Oregon State." Sullivan was named to the Pac-12's preseason impact watch list.
