Trevor Rogers continued his strong August, allowing two runs over six innings to earn his eighth win of the season. Freddy Peralta lasted just 4.2 innings and took the loss for the Rays.
Tonight's pitching matchup features Brandon Young (9-3, 3.33) taking on Shane McClanahan (9-6, 3.09). Young's most recent outing came against the Twins last Tuesday. He allowed one earned run on six hits across six innings while helping Baltimore secure a victory. The 27-year-old has been remarkably consistent this year, recording 10 quality starts and lasting at least five innings in 17 of his 20 starts. McClanahan's recent workload has been somewhat unusual. His most recent appearance came on July 30 against the Rangers, when he pitched three hitless innings while allowing one earned run.
