New England Patriots cornerback Christian Gonzalez made a massive leap on the NFL's Top 100 Players of 2026 list. Gonzalez was ranked 84th last year, and now, he sits at the 28th spot on the list.
He is certainly worthy of a jump, as he’s coming off a Pro Bowl season. This also included a stellar postseason in which he racked up seven pass deflections, one interception, one forced fumble and a sack. He was arguably the best player on the field in a losing effort at Super Bowl LX.
The former Oregon standout is one of the best cornerbacks in the league, and he took his game to another level at the highest level of competition.
And he is finally starting to get the respect of his peers.

Lists like this don’t often mean much in the grand scheme of things.
However, it does help shape the perception of certain players. Gonzalez has been a defensive cornerstone for the Patriots for quite some time now, and the accolades and buzz around him keep growing.
