New England Patriots wide receiver Kayshon Boutte isn't going away.
Despite all of the trade rumors, the former sixth-round pick has kept his head down and continued going to work building and improving on his connection with Patriots quarterback Drake Maye. Even with the arrival of other stud playmaking receivers, like A.J. Brown and Romeo Doubs, Boutte has remained the well that never runs dry for Maye.
The two connected on a deep pass over the weekend that Boutte high-pointed with veteran cornerback Carlton Davis III in coverage. There have been plenty of impressive catches by the Patriots' receivers throughout training camp, but that one ranked among the best.
“Two minute drill. Big time players make big time plays in big time situations. It’s that simple," Boutte said on the play, via SI.com's Mike Kadlick.

It's clear that the Patriots have big plans in mind if Boutte remains on the roster for the 2026 season.
Unless another team offers a good enough return, the Patriots might be better off keeping the player and passing on the late-round draft pick. Boutte being on the roster gives the team a lot of options and security at the wide receiver position.
That kind of depth is invaluable for a young quarterback, like Maye, looking to get the team back to the Super Bowl.
