Patriots' two mystery linemen revealed at practice in wake of injuries

The New England Patriots have reportedly signed offensive linemen Darrian Dalcourt and Joe Michalski, according to ESPN's Mike Reiss on Saturday. Michalski played at Oklahoma State during his college tenure. He appeared in 57 games at the collegiate level and made 35 starts. Meanwhile, Dalcourt was a former Alabama offensive lineman who played in 40 games with 16 starts. Both players entered the NFL as undrafted free agents. Michalski spent the 2025 season on the Denver Broncos' practice squad, while Dalcourt has bounced around multiple teams in the last two years, including the Cleveland Browns, Carolina Panthers, Washington Commanders and Baltimore Ravens. These moves are an attempt to shore up the depth issues on the Patriots' interior offensive line after backup guards Ben Brown and Andrew Rupcich both went down with injuries in Thursday's preseason opener against the Indianapolis Colts. According to Patriots coach Mike Vrabel, Brown is expected to miss multiple weeks. His absence now creates a real opportunity for either Dalcourt or Michalski to prove they're worth keeping around.
