The NBA is just a couple of months away from resuming, and we have seen a lot of player movement this offseason, including the Celtics' trade to acquire Paul George last month.
Fans have voiced their displeasure with the decision to replace Brown with George and picks, but recent comments from George should help ease how fans feel ahead of the 2026-27 season.
Paul George Makes Encouraging Comments Ahead of First Season with Celtics
In a recent video posted on the Celtics YouTube channel, George said, “I’m gonna give y’all everything... It’s surreal. I’m ecstatic. I’m looking forward to the journey. I’m looking forward to wearing that green and representing for Boston” (via Daniel Donabedian).
It's wishful thinking that George will come in and replace the production Brown had in past seasons, but there's certainly a realistic role George can take on in Boston that, if he attacks correctly, will make this season a successful one for him and the team.

All fans can ask for is to see George play well off of Jayson Tatum, Payton Pritchard, Derrick White and others, as the same goal of remaining competitive is what the players will have in mind.
The race in the East will be close all season long this year, after several teams have improved and added to their rosters.
However, there's no reason the Celtics shouldn't be in the conversation of teams who will push to finish in one of the top spots in the conference.
