The NFL season is upon us, with the preseason getting further underway Thursday night. That means the news cycle and buzz surrounding the league are growing, with demand for NFL coverage quickly increasing across the media. However, one media outlet had a bit of a scare on Friday. Pro Football Talk was hosting its broadcast with Mike Florio and co-host Michael Holley when Holley appeared to suffer a medical complication and fainted. Multiple reports confirmed that Holley experienced a minor episode and was recovering well despite the scary-looking scene. Florio later explained what happened, providing some relief to viewers who witnessed the incident. He hadn’t had anything to eat or drink before the show. He became overheated during the show and passed out. I didn’t notice until he slumped in his seat, because I was looking at the camera, not the monitor. We went to break right away to try to get him assistance, if he needed it. Fortunately, he recovered quickly and is fine.” Holley recovering following frightening incident Michael Holley has been with Pro Football Talk for roughly two years and has become a familiar face alongside Florio as the NFL media landscape continues to ramp up ahead of the regular season. The incident understandably caught viewers off guard, particularly because it happened live during the broadcast. Florio and the production team quickly went to a commercial break to make sure Holley received whatever assistance he needed. While those conversations are important to fans, Friday’s incident served as a reminder that the people delivering that coverage can have unexpected health scares of their own. The most important takeaway is that Holley is reportedly doing well following the incident. Hopefully, he can get some rest, stay hydrated and return to the air soon as Pro Football Talk’s coverage of the 2026 NFL season continues to pick up. — Enjoy free coverage of the top news & trending stories with The Big Lead Newsletter —
