PITTSBURGH, Pa. (WKBN) - The Pittsburgh Pirates have activated centerfielder Oneil Cruz from the 60-day injured list ahead of Monday's series opener against the Tigers.
The slugger has missed 58 games with a fractured hand.
This season, Cruz is batting .264 with 14 home runs and 44 RBIs for Pittsburgh.
In corresponding roster moves, outfielder Ronny Simon and pitcher Hunter Barco were optioned to Triple-A Indianapolis.
In addition, pitcher Yohan Ramirez has been activated from the paternity list.
Outfielder Johnathan Rodriguez was designated for assignment to make room on the 40-man roster.
