The Detroit Pistons released their four-game preseason schedule on Thursday, Aug. 13, along with their full regular-season schedule for the 2026-27 NBA season.

\n

The Pistons will host Devin Booker and the Phoenix Suns on Oct. 5 at Little Caesars Arena (7 p.m.) in their preseason opener, and play a second home exhibition Oct. 16 against the Toronto Raptors (7 p.m.)

\n

The Pistons start the regular season Tuesday, Oct. 20, in the first game of the NBA season at home against the Boston Celtics (3 p.m., NBC/Peacock).

\n

The Pistons this season will broadcast for free over the air on WYMD-TV (Channel 20 in Detroit), starting with the 2026-27 preseason and continuing through the regular season. This marks the first time since 2005 the team will shift to a primarily local production and broadcast. There also will be a streaming solution, yet to be announced. The change comes after the dissolution of FanDuel Sports Network Detroit.

\n

Pistons preseason schedule 2026-27

\n
  • Oct. 5: vs. Phoenix Suns, 7 p.m. ET, Detroit
  • Oct. 10: at Washington Wizards, 7 p.m., Washington DC
  • Oct. 14: at Minnesota Timberwolves, 8 p.m., Minneapolis

How to watch the Pistons on TV this season

\n

The Pistons' TV network for the 2026-27 season is WYMD-TV (Channel 20 in Detroit). In Grand Rapids, the Pistons will air on The Spot Grand Rapids 17 and Fox 17 WXMI-TV, broadcasting for free over the air. A streaming solution has yet to be announced.

\n

Pistons fans looking to watch all 82 of the team's regular-season games won't be able to rely solely on their antennas (or a streaming service that carries WMYD). In addition to locally airing games, the NBA has broadcast agreements with ESPN (which also airs games on ABC), NBC (WDIV-TV, Channel 4 in Detroit) and Amazon, which streams games exclusively on Prime. NBC also streams some games exclusively on Peacock.

\n

The Pistons are scheduled to be on national television 19 times, with seven being streaming only games.

\n

A complete local television and radio broadcast schedule for Pistons games will be released in the coming months.
