This offseason, the Los Angeles Clippers re-signed guard Bradley Beal to a two year, 13.2 million dollar contract. Beal, 33, is coming off a year that was cut short because of a hip injury that required surgery.
Beal is now getting a second chance with the Clippers as he’s someone who built a great relationship with the organization, even in his absence.
Los Angeles is now a much younger team than a season ago when they came in as the oldest team in the league, and Beal can serve as a veteran piece younger players will seek moving forward.
The Clippers have multiple young guards on this roster like Keaton Wagler, Jalen Pickett and Jordan Miller, and Beal could help as someone who can improve certain parts of their game.

In terms of what Beal will do on the court, he won’t have too big of a role, but he will definitely find himself playing a set amount of minutes each night.
Wirh Wagler being added to the mix this summer, the Clippers may have found themselves looking for a veteran piece that can mentor him.
Bradley Beal’s play style is very similar to Keaton Wagler’s. Both players can handle the ball and score on all three levels. Earlier in Beal’s career, he was a ball dominant player who could score consistently.
In terms of what Bradley Beal has to offer, it will be interesting to see how productive he can truly be considering his age and the injury he’s coming back from.
In 2025-2026, he only played six games before going down with injury, and he averaged 8.2 points per game, 0.8 rebounds and 1.7 assists in just over 20 minutes a night.

This next season, those numbers will likely go down, but there’s a chance he can be a member of the rotation.
One question mark the Clippers have on their roster is Benedict Mathurin. Mathurin was tendered a qualifying offer earlier this offseason, and both sides have yet to agree to a deal.
No team has made an offer to Mathurin, and with this move it could mean he may not find himself in a clippers uniform next season.
Mathurin is coming off his best season with Los Angeles, and he is one of those younger pieces that could learn from a player like Bradley Beal.

Beal’s production has dipped in recent seasons and this contract may be the last of his career. It will be interesting to see how he will perform and work with this young Clippers team.
