“Proud to be here” Kerim Alajbegovic says he just could not reject Juventus

At a time when Serie A has lost some of its pulling power, it was remarkable that Juventus hijacked Chelsea’s move for Kerim Alajbegovic. After a stunning season at RB Salzburg, Bayer Leverkusen would have liked to keep him, but the interest in his signature was too strong, and they have now sold him to Juventus.

Alajbegovic was close to moving to Chelsea when the Bianconeri intervened and won the race for his signature this window. He is now set to play an important role for Juventus as he begins the next stage of his career in Italy.

Alajbegovic Reveals Why He Chose Juventus

The men at the Allianz Stadium see him as one of the best players they have signed in recent times. He will look to help the club compete for trophies in domestic and European competitions, but his decision to join Juventus has naturally raised questions, particularly because he could have moved to Chelsea.

The youngster has now explained why he could not turn down the opportunity to join the Bianconeri. Speaking about his decision, he said via Tuttojuve:

“When a big club like Juve calls you…. It was really hard for me to say no. I’m very proud to be here and I can’t wait to take on this new challenge in Serie A.”

His comments make it clear that the opportunity to join Juventus was too difficult to reject. The club’s stature played an important role in convincing him to choose Turin over a move elsewhere.

Juventus Expect Big Things

Juventus will now look to help Alajbegovic play to his strengths as he adapts to his new surroundings. However, the youngster will also have to show the form that made him stand out in Austria and demonstrate that he can deliver consistently.

His performances at RB Salzburg helped generate significant interest in his signature, and Juventus will expect him to carry that quality into Serie A. The move represents a major opportunity for Alajbegovic, who will now have to justify the confidence placed in him.

For the Bianconeri, winning the race for his signature represents an important piece of business. Alajbegovic was close to joining Chelsea, but Juventus managed to convince him that Turin was the right destination for the next step in his career.
