Your votes are in, and we have our 2026 Fort Collins-area preseason fall girls Player of the Year.
Poudre School District flag football fans made their votes count, spurring junior Marli Brenner atop a crowded ballot and earning her top honors in the Coloradoan's preseason fan polling.
Congratulations to Marli and thank you to fans across the area for voting!
Brenner got 37.6% of the vote in the fan poll that featured several other district standouts from the Coloradoan's preseason players to watch list.
Here's how the rest of the top five shook out in the fan poll:
- 2nd: Briella Myers, Fossil Ridge softball (21.5%)
- 3rd: Brooke Pravlik, PSD flag football (14.6%)
- 4th: Kennedy Stegeman, Poudre softball (11.8%)
- 5th: Kamryn Margison, Fossil Ridge volleyball (7.1%)

Brenner is a top returning player from a PSD squad that made a strong first impression, going 12-3 and making the Class 5A playoffs in the program's debut season.
Brenner was instrumental in that success. She was a defensive standout, pulling 73 flags, recording six sacks and picking off five passes and returning several for touchdowns.
The two-way player also had 190 receiving yards and three touchdowns on offense.

Brenner's all-sport athleticism — she also runs track and plays basketball for Fossil Ridge — is on full display on the flag football turf and has her poised for another big season.
The Coloradoan will have more fan polling for top players throughout the school year.
