Slated to start at WR in his final year of eligibility Owens will come into a WR room that desperately needs well…everything. WR was quite the weakness for this Purdue team last year and there’s nowhere to go but up. Owens has experience, he was all Ivy League last season and had 66 receptions, as well as a good head on his shoulders as he was named to the All-Academic team the last two seasons. Purdue will need him to step up big time.

Wright comes to Purdue with very little in game experience. He made his in game debut two seasons ago but played in just one game. Last season he appeared in 10 games and started one for Mississippi State. He will provide depth for the Boilermakers and given the new eligibility rules will likely appear on special teams. There’s an impact to be made on special teams and it’s a way to show the coaches your attitude and motor.
