The Baltimore Ravens got their first action of the 2026 season on Saturday night with a preseason matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles. The result of the game – a 24-7 Ravens win – matters a lot less than the strides (and stumbles) by several players jockeying for a 53-man roster spot and regular-season playing time. Here’s the latest stock report out of M&T Bank Stadium from Baltimore Beatdown’s staff:

\n
\n

Stock Up

\n

TE Matthew Hibner

\n

After much talk about the lackluster performance from the tight end room this training camp, Hibner eases concerns ever so slightly with a big catch down the field on the opening drive. The rookie continued with two nice catch-and-run plays on consecutive drives, showing a bit a burst in the process. – Dustin Cox

\n

OLB Adisa Isaac

\n

Because of his lengthy absences, Isaac needed to put something positive on film to make a case for the team to continue investing in him. The play didn’t count, but he showed good instincts and hustle snagging a ball for a would-be pick-six. – Kevin McNelis

\n

WRs Ja’Kobi Lane

\n

Lane’s stock was already about as high as it could be for a mid-round rookie after an excellent training camp, but he continued that into the first preseason game with a touchdown on his third catch of the game. Lane appears ready to play a sizeable role in the offense once the regular season arrives. – Dustin Cox

\n

CB Keyon Martin

\n

Martin has looked good tonight as well. He was all over the field from the first drive, drawing a holding penalty and flying across the formation to stop a WR run. He kept going in the second half with a TFL and a sack to snuff out a drive almost entirely on his own. – Nikhil Mehta

\n

QBs Tyler Huntley and Joe Fagnano

\n

Huntley was his usual self as one of the better backup quarterbacks in the league, but it was third-stringer Fagnano that impressed in the first preseason game. Outside of an interception in the endzone, the undrafted rookie was cool, calm, and collected, displaying control of the offense while getting the ball to his playmakers. After watching Devin Leary in recent preseasons, Fagnano has been a welcome surprise. – Dustin Cox

\n

Jesse Minter’s new defense

\n

While it’s just the preseason, you couldn’t hope for more in the debut of Minter’s (and Anthony Weaver’s) defense as the unit nearly pitched a shutout with Philly’s only points coming with 2:14 left in the game. The Ravens were suffocating throughout the night, making every play difficult for the Eagles’ offense, which managed just 159 yards on 40 plays (4.0 yards per play). They converted just six first downs all night with a 0-9 mark on third down. Baltimore’s coverage in the secondary was extremely strong, allowing the front seven to do their jobs. This performance should only make fans more excited for Minter’s defense once the regular season arrives. – Dustin Cox

\n
\n

Stock Down

\n

K Tyler Loop

\n

Following a missed field goal that cost the Ravens a trip to the postseason, Loop missing a 49-yard field goal to open the preseason should only magnify the pressure on the second-year kicker. He came back later to convert from 42 yards, but fans may start clamoring for – Dustin Cox

\n

OL Emery Jones Jr.

\n

Jones was beat multiple times in pass protection early in the game, including once by Eagles DT Ty Robinson that resulted in a Huntley sack. He saw time at both guard spots, but not tackle, where the Ravens badly need some depth. – Nikhil Mehta

\n
\n

Rollercoaster

\n

WR Elijah Sarratt

\n

Sarratt was excellent for much of the night, reeling in six of his seven targets for 66 yards. However, he left the football unprotected after one catch and lost a fumble while trying to pick up some extra yards. The fourth-round pick handled his return opportunities fine, but turnovers are one of the quickest ways for rookies to get stuck on the bench. – Nikhil Mehta

\n

P Ryan Eckley

\n

Eckley’s first punt was…not good. It flew just 27 yards and went out of bounds at the Eagles’ 31-yard line. But the rookie’s second attempt had plenty of hang time and forced a fair catch at the Eagles’ 10. Tyler Loop made four of his five kicks on the night, so Eckley took care of his holding duties, too. But Baltimore will want more consistency out of Jordan Stout’s successor. – Nikhil Mehta
