Real Madrid have effectively shut the door on further transfer business this summer, with the club confirming that no member of the current squad wants to leave and that no player will be forced out.

According to COPE, this means Real Madrid are unlikely to make any more signings before the transfer window closes.

The club believe their 25-man squad is complete, with enough depth across every area of the pitch.

The decision comes after a busy summer in which Real Madrid have reportedly spent around €240 million on six new signings.

While strengthening the midfield had also been considered, particularly with Rodri emerging as a target, the club is now expected to stand still unless the current squad situation changes.

Simply put, with no player actively seeking an exit, Real Madrid have little room to bring in another signing.

Real Madrid close door to further signings

Real Madrid believe they have sufficient depth, with at least two options available for every position in the squad.

This has been the message coming from internal discussions for several weeks and remains the basis of their current transfer strategy.

A new central midfielder had been considered one of the areas where Real Madrid could still improve.

The club reportedly explored the possibility of signing Rodri from Manchester City last month. However, the Spanish midfielder ultimately appeared to favour a move to Barcelona, ending Real Madrid’s hopes of bringing him to the Santiago Bernabeu.

Despite missing out on that opportunity, the club has decided against pursuing another midfielder for now.

The reason is not necessarily a lack of interest in improving the squad, but it is the simple issue of space.

Real Madrid already have a full 25-man group, and adding another player would require an outgoing transfer.

With no current player pushing for a move, the club is unwilling to create a departure by force.

Moreover, Real Madrid have no intention of pressuring any player to leave simply to make room for a new signing.

Rodri setback leaves Real Madrid without new midfielder

Rodri represented a specific profile that Real Madrid were interested in adding.

The Manchester City midfielder would have brought composure, control and defensive awareness to the centre of the pitch.

However, with the Spaniard now appearing closer to Barcelona, Real Madrid have been left without that particular signing.

The club could theoretically target another player with similar qualities, but that option appears increasingly unlikely, considering that no player wants to leave the team.
