Richard Hughes only needs to spend €20m to solve Liverpool's main issue Liverpool have a lot of problems that they need to fix this summer. Last term, Arne Slot's men massively undelivered as they only finished fifth in the Premier League. Indeed, they did get knocked out of the Champions League by the eventual winners but, that still doesn't excuse their poor performances against teams such as Galatasaray. The fact that Slot was sacked is obviously a good thing as it means that a fresh new era can emerge at Liverpool. But, if Richard Hughes doesn't make the signings that Liverpool need, they could actually end up worse off than last term. Three new players have obviously been brought in so far but, there are still a couple of problem areas that need addressing. And now, it seems like a €20 million player could be exactly what they need.

RB Leipzig only want €20 million for Lutsharel Geertruida Lutsharel Geertruida was linked with a Liverpool move back in January. Liverpool were rumoured to be interested in the Dutchman due to the number of injuries that they suffered at right-back. Denzel Dumfries was also mentioned as a potential option that Liverpool could explore. However, neither of those moves worked out which left Liverpool with Dominik Szoboszlai and Curtis Jones to fill in the gap. This summer, things are slightly different as they now have Ronald Araujo who can play there instead but, since his injury history also leaves a lot to be desired, it's unclear how well he will do or how reliable he will be. And, since RB Leipzig don't want Geertruida anymore, they've now put a €20 million price tag on his head.

"More on Lutsharel Geertruida: In addition to PSV Eindhoven, clubs from the Premier League and La Liga have also registered interest," Philipp Hinze shared via X. "Teams from Saudi Arabia are also interested in the Dutchman. "RB Leipzig are open to a sale for around €20m and favour a permanent transfer. "A loan is not completely ruled out, depending on the timing and conditions." GambleAware.org £30 FREECLAIM NOW Lutsharel Geertruida solves Liverpool's main problem Liverpool's main problem that they had last season was the lack of depth among their ranks. As mentioned, the Anfield outfit suffered so many injuries that they were forced into playing midfielders at right-back and this term, things need to be different. The fact that Geertruida is available for only €20 million is mind-boggling. The Dutchman was a fairly solid player for Sunderland last season with the Black Cats even managing to qualify for Europe. He was one of their most versatile defenders as he's able to play all across the back four. Geertruida is also only 26 years old so there's still room for him to grow. Here's hoping Liverpool see the vision and don't actually go into the 2026-27 season with Joe Gomez and Conor Bradley as genuine options that they need to rely on.
