
One of the best high school basketball prospects in the state of California is on the move ahead of his senior season.
Four-star small forward King Rachal is transferring to Notre Dame in Sherman Oaks, Team CPSA Director Clint Parks told Dushawn London of 247Sports on Thursday. He spent last season at DNA Prep Academy.
Rachal is the No. 61 overall prospect and No. 16 small forward in the 2027 cycle, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 5 senior prospect in the Golden State.

It’s been a massive year for Rachal. He impressed at DNA Prep and has surged on the camp circuit. Rachal now joins a Notre Dame roster that also features five-star point guard NaVorro Bowman Jr., the No. 13 prospect in the 2027 cycle.
The Knights finished last season as the No. 6 team in California, per the Rivals Composite Rankings. They won 22 games despite the departure of Five-Star Plus+ SF Tyran Stokes, the No. 1 overall prospect in the 2026 cycle.
On the recruiting front, Rachal recently locked in fall official visits to Oregon, San Diego State, USC and Utah State. Texas A&M, UCLA, Oklahoma State, Arizona State, Washington and Vanderbilt are among the other programs on his offer sheet.
