Jessica Bang, an Australian professional golfer, has died after she suffered a brain hemorrhage earlier this month. She was 18.

Bang died on Aug. 13 at Synphaet Ramintra Hospital in Bangkok, Thailand, her family wrote in an update to a GoFundMe page.

Her death came days after she “suddenly collapsed” and suffered a brain hemorrhage on Aug. 1 while preparing for a tournament. Bang underwent emergency brain surgery and was placed on life support.

“We are truly heartbroken by this news,” her family wrote. “However, we would like to continue to remember Jessica and celebrate her achievements, passion, and dedication to golf.”

The GoFundMe has reached more than $61,000 of its $100,000 AUD goal as of Monday afternoon. Funds raised will go towards Bang’s “overwhelming medical bills,” according to the page.

Bang won the Women’s New South Wales Open Regional Qualifying Event in her fifth career start in February, according to the WPGA of Australasia. She won the event by five strokes at 13-under par, setting a course record at Moss Vale Golf Club in Australia. Her mother served as her caddie throughout her rookie season.

Bang earned her spot on the WPGA Tour in November after she completed Qualifying School in 2025, according to the Tour.

The WPGA Tour of Australasia issued a statement in honor of Bang, calling her “an outstanding young talent who made a significant impression in her short time on the Tour.”

“The WPGA Tour of Australasia and the broader Australian golf community is deeply saddened by the passing of young Tour member Jessica Bang in Thailand,” the Tour wrote in a post to X.

“The thoughts and prayers of everyone at the WPGA Tour of Australasia and the broader Australian golf community are with Jessica’s family, friends and all those who knew and loved her at this incredibly difficult time.”
