The FedEx St. Jude Championship is down another player.

Robert MacIntyre withdrew from the tournament about two hours before he was set to tee off in the second round, the PGA Tour announced Friday morning. A reason for his WD was not cited, but MacIntyre posted a disappointing 12-over 82 in Thursday's opening round at TPC Southwind in Memphis, finishing the day dead last on the leaderboard, eight shots behind the next-worst score.

It was statistically the worst round of MacIntyre's career, according to figures provided by Rick Gehman on social media, as the 30-year-old Scotsman lost a whopping 12.45 strokes to the field. He made four bogeys and four double-bogeys to go along with just one birdie.

MacIntyre entered the week at No. 31 in the season-long FedEx Cup points standings and as of Friday morning was only projected to drop six spots to No. 37, meaning, despite his withdrawal from Memphis, he is almost certain to finish the week inside the top 50 and advance to the BMW Championship at Bellerive Country Club, the second of three events that make up the PGA Tour's FedEx Cup Playoffs.

But once he gets to St. Louis, he will have some work to do. Only the top 30 in the standings will move on to the season-ending Tour Championship (Aug. 27-30), where there will be $40 million in prize money up for grabs at East Lake in Atlanta.

MacIntyre's 2026 season has been a bit of a rollercoaster. He started off hot, making the cut in each of his first seven starts and posting three top-5 finishes in that span, including a tie for second at the Valero Texas Open, before missing the weekend at the Masters thanks to a first-round 80 in which he displayed some unruly antics.

His Masters struggles spurred a mid-season slump of sorts for MacIntyre, as he missed the cut in two of his next five starts, failing to finish higher than T-42. But in the last month of the regular season, he played some solid golf, making five cuts in a row with a pair of top-10s, including a T-3 at the Genesis Scottish Open, his home tournament.

The St. Jude marked MacIntyre's first competitive start in four weeks, as he had not teed it up since the Open Championship at Royal Birkdale, opting to skip the 3M Open, the Rocket Classic and the Wyndham Championship.

The field in Memphis is now down to just 68, as Daniel Berger pulled out prior to the start of the tournament with an injury.
