Scottie Scheffler was back to his dominant best last week at the FedEx St. Jude Championship.

Scheffler won the event by an incredible eight strokes and finally recorded his second PGA Tour win of the season in the process.

The world number one now has 21 PGA Tour wins to his name, including three major championships, and his victory in Memphis was a timely reminder to everyone that he is the best golfer on the planet by a very long way.

Scottie Scheffler has actually struggled at times throughout the 2026 PGA Tour season, by his standards at least.

However, he does have two wins and 12 top-5s to his name in 18 starts this year, including five runner-up finishes!

Scheffler became the third youngest player to win 21 times on the PGA Tour after his victory at the FedEx St. Jude on Sunday.

Every department of the 30-year-old’s game was in fine working order at TPC Southwind last week, and it’s clear to see that he is so far ahead of everyone else in the game right now.

Scottie Scheffler could soon be unstoppable on the PGA Tour

Scheffler has absolutely dominated professional golf since his first win back in 2022.

Since February 2022, Scheffler has record 21 wins, 57 top-five finishes, and 73 top-10s in 105 PGA Tour starts.

That is only only proof of his domination, but evidence of his exceptional consistency as well.

However, Scheffler could now be set to reach even higher levels of domination.

That’s because the world number one is putting better than he ever has before.

He is ranked third in strokes gained putting on the PGA Tour this season, having gained 0.680 strokes on average in every single round he has played.

When Scheffler putts as well as he did last week at TPC Southwind, there is no hope for his rivals. He will win every single time.

That must be seriously scary for his rivals. We all know that he is the best ball-striker on the planet.

It’s fair to say that his driving and iron play haven’t been as imperious as usual this year, but he’s still ranked fourth and sixth respectively in those categories.

If Scottie Scheffler manages to rediscover his very best iron play, just like he did at the FedEx St. Jude Championship, while maintaining his incredible putting, he will be unstoppable.

Not one player will be able to touch him.

Unflappable Scottie Scheffler is on the verge of greatness

Golf is obviously an incredibly difficult sport to master. It’s a humbling game that gives even the best players in the world nightmares.

However, Tiger Woods came closer than anyone to mastering the game during his prime years, and now we’re seeing similar levels of domination from Scheffler.

There are, of course, a lot of variables that could affect Scheffler’s chances of becoming one of the best three or four golfers of all time.

Will he manage to avoid injury for the next decade or so? Will he be able to maintain his hunger and desire?

The general consensus is that the answer to both of those questions is yes. The way that he shuffles his feet through impact means that he is putting less stress on his lower back than most of his rivals.

Meanwhile, he keeps his practice and playing entirely separate from his family life, so the two never overlap.

Scottie Scheffler may be motivated by being the best father, husband and friend that he can be, rather than winning golf tournaments.

However, he obviously loves the feeling of lifting trophies as well. He never gets too high after wins, nor does he get too low after tough beats.

And his recent putting performance in Memphis could be a sign that he is set to embark on a new era of dominance.
