Seahawks’ Devon Witherspoon gets $132M extension after ‘heated negotiations’

Devon Witherspoon and the Seattle Seahawks agreed to a historic four-year, $132 million contract extension Saturday. The deal includes more than $101 million guaranteed, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Witherspoon now becomes the highest-paid cornerback in NFL history. “ESPN sources: three-time Pro-Bowl CB Devon Witherspoon and the Seahawks reached agreement … that now makes him the highest-paid cornerback in NFL history,” Schefter wrote on X. The contract gives Witherspoon a $33 million average annual value. That moves him ahead of the previous top cornerback contracts held by players such as Denzel Ward.
