The Seattle Seahawks appear to be on a quest to improve their cornerback position group, as it does not seem they are quiet yet satisfied. Seattle signed embattled Lions cornerback Terrion Arnold last week, but it was announced on Tuesday that he would be placed on the Commissioner's Exempt list when he signs with the Seahawks. This means he will not be eligible to play for, or practice with, Seattle for as long as he is on this list.
With this in mind, it's no wonder why the Seahawks are continuing their search for a new cornerback, and it may come in the form of a better known name around this league. On Tuesday afternoon, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Seattle hosted former Dallas Cowboys and Green Bay Packers cornerback Trevon Diggs for a tryout.
Seattle's interest in Diggs is understandable, as current Seahawks defensive coordinator Aden Durde was a staff member on Dallas' defense while he was patrolling the secondary. Diggs was a two-time Pro Bowler in his days with the Cowboys, but has struggled with health over the last few seasons. His last complete year was back in 2022, since then the most games he's played in a season was 11.
Diggs played eight games for the Cowboys last year, and after demanding his release he played two games for the Green Bay Packers, including their Wild Card loss to the Chicago Bears. In his career, Diggs has recorded 242 total tackles and 20 interceptions.
