The Seattle Seahawks are back at practice following their 2026 preseason debut against the Dallas Cowboys, and as is standard during August, a slew of roster changes were made. Arguably the most attention-grabbing news comes at the cornerback position, and no it’s not related to Terrion Arnold (at least not yet).

Shemar Jean-Charles placed on injured reserve

After a rough outing in which he gave up a long touchdown, a pass interference penalty, and a couple of other big catches, Jean-Charles’ season looks to be over due to an undisclosed injury. Jean-Charles dealt with injuries last year and stayed on the practice squad. Seattle could still waive Jean-Charles off IR with a settlement agreement, thus making him a free agent, otherwise the next time he’ll play is 2027.

Pair of running backs waived

T.J. Harden and Justin Jones have both been let go after playing in the Cowboys game. Harden’s highlight was recovering a muffed punt in the fourth quarter, but otherwise neither he nor Jones did much on offense. With Seattle’s running back room banged up, Harden and Jones were always short-term camp bodies.

3 players signed to Seahawks roster

Not too long after Anthony Hankerson worked out for Seattle, the former Oregon State star running back has been added to the team. It remains to be seen whether any of Jadarian Price, Emanuel Wilson, or Jacardia Wright will be ready to return to practice and even play against the Tennessee Titans on Sunday.

Meanwhile, the Seahawks also brought back linebacker Power Echols, who was signed and just as quickly waived last week. It must be emphasized that Power is his actual first name, which is awesome.

Lastly, wide receiver Julian Hicks was signed. The UDFA out of Albany was most recently with the Green Bay Packers last season, but has never been on an NFL regular season roster.
