RENTON, Wash. — DeMarcus Lawrence debated carefully whether to return for the 2026 NFL season. In his 12th year, the Seattle Seahawks edge rusher had stayed healthy enough to play every game, forced six fumbles between the regular season and playoffs, and won a Super Bowl.
Should he hang it up?
“I'm doing everything that a player can wish for,” Lawrence told Yahoo Sports in a sit-down interview from training camp. “So now do I cut that light off and turn the lights [off]? … I ain’t think it was time to hang it up yet.”
But with six children and his wife, Sasha, back in Dallas, the Dallas Cowboys’ 2014 second-round draft pick says he has just one season left.
“This will be my last year,” Lawrence said. “Through the grace of God, I'm able to play another year and soak it all up one more good time before I hang it up.”
This developing story will be updated.
