Florida State has an illustrious history of star players walking through their doors, names like Deion Sanders, Charlie Ward, Jameis Winston, and Jordan Travis, just to name a few.

In 2026, who will be the stars that FSU can count on? CBS Sports analyst Blake Brockermeyer recently wrote a piece discussing the 150 best in the country, and on that list were two Seminoles.

Firstly, his thoughts on defensive lineman Mandrell Desir:

Desir was one of the few bright spots on a disappointing Florida State defense, combining twitch and power to disrupt opposing offenses. He finished with 6.5 sacks and 18 hurries and should take on an even bigger role following Darrell Jackson Jr.'s departure. Desir has the length and athleticism to thrive on stunts and games and has the traits to become one of the ACC's top interior defenders.

Desir finished with 6.5 sacks and 30 tackles in his freshman year. He was named a freshman All-American by the Football Writers Association of America, On3, and 247Sports. Conference-wise, he was named an All-ACC Honorable Mention.

He was ranked No. 132, part of nine defensive tackles on that list. Ahead of him were Jahkeem Stewart of USC and Mario Landino of Indiana.

Brockermeyer also had high praise for wide receiver Duce Robinson, who was a preseason All-American and was recently named to the Wuerffel Trophy watch list. As he puts it:

Few receivers present a tougher matchup than Robinson. His size, catch radius and ball skills make him a nightmare in contested-catch situations, while his long speed is better than many realize. Robinson led the ACC with nearly 1,100 receiving yards while averaging 19 yards per catch. With Florida State lacking proven firepower around him, expect opposing defenses to make slowing Robinson their top priority every week.

Robinson finished No. 29, the fourth-best wide receiver on Brockermeyer's list, behind Cam Coleman of Texas, Malachi Toney of Miami, and Jeremiah Smith of Ohio State.

Robinson finished with 1,081 yards and six touchdowns last season. His yards were the 11th most in the country. He also averaged 19.3 yards per game, the ninth-best in the country. By all metrics, Robinson should have a strong final season in Tallahassee.

Florida State opens its 2026 season against the New Mexico State Aggies on Aug. 29 at Doak Campbell Stadium.
