The episode occurred at a residence in Sardinia where the 20-year-old Serie A star was taking time off after his team had clinched a Coppa Italia victory over Arezzo. Trepy, who allegedly does not know how to swim, was discovered in the pool's deepest section. Cagliari's roster received two days of rest following Friday's 1-0 win - a match in which Trepy featured for 53 minutes before being substituted, as per The Mirror.

"The Club is in constant contact with the healthcare facility and the player's family and is closely monitoring the progress of his condition. The French talent joined Cagliari in 2022 from Parisian fourth-tier team US Créteil-Lusitanos, going on to feature for the Italian team's junior sides before making his Serie A bow last January.
