Heliot Ramos has been a source of frustration for New York Yankees fans since his trade-deadline acquisition. Ramos has gone hitless in his last 23 at-bats and has totaled just two hits in 31 plate appearances as a Yankee. The numbers have been highly discouraging for the Puerto Rican, who was acquired in hopes of getting the Bombers out of their offensive slump.
Although his offense has been underwhelming since he arrived in the Bronx, fans are now questioning his competitiveness. The latest criticism came after Ramos was seen not hustling to first base following a misplay by the shortstop in Saturday’s game against the Blue Jays.

Fans expressed disappointment with what they felt was a lack of effort on the bases.
“This is seriously one of the most unacceptable things of the season. When your offense is this bad….bad meaning one of the worst in baseball for over two and a half months and then this happens as a struggling newcomer. There has to be accountability here,” one fan commented.
It was yet another lackluster night on offense for the Yankees, who managed only one run, off the bat of George Lombard Jr. The Bombers lost 4-1 and, with that, the series. The finale will be played on Sunday.
Heliot Ramos is Having an Underwhelming Campaign
Ramos has a .244 batting average, nine home runs, 34 RBIs, and a .685 OPS in 84 games this season. He is projected to finish with just 12 home runs and 45 RBIs.
The Yankees will conclude their series against the Blue Jays on Sunday and then travel to Baltimore to face the Orioles in an intra-divisional series starting Tuesday.
