Shauna Legge: Time to put the hard work into action Leeds United Women are back in FA WNL Division One North action this weekend as they host Thornaby Women at the newly-renamed BD Community Stadium. Ahead of the opener, captain Shauna Legge has spoken to leedsunited.com. "We are really looking forward to getting back to it on Sunday," the skipper began. "It's been nice to have a break. "You're always ready for a break when the end-of-season comes around but on the flip side, you're always ready to get going again when that time comes. "We have had a decent pre-season, a few new additions, we've added some quality to the squad and just ready to get going now and hopefully hit the ground running." On Sunday's opposition: "They are a newly promoted side, so it's difficult to know much about them. Obviously they've got quality because they've won their league and come up being promoted, and no doubt will have added to that, but so have we. "We have added some new faces that have really bolstered the squad and added quality to a good side, solid side that we already had, so just ready now to put all that hard work over the past few weeks and months into action now. "We just want to start in the best way possible and get the three points in front of fans at home at Garforth. "A few more clean sheets would be nice than what we had last year," Legge added on the season's ambitions. "But obviously the main goal as a whole for all of us is to win this league. That's the overriding, most important thing for myself and probably everyone. "To start the season at home in front of our own fans at our own pitch at Garforth, you can't ask for anything more, really. I've said so many times about us as fans and how much we appreciate them and you can always hear them behind you, getting you going. "They always have been through ups and downs. At the end of games, it's nice to chat with them and hopefully celebrate more wins than anything else. We always do appreciate them and they definitely don't go unnoticed." There have been four new additions to the squad ahead of the clash; Abi Coley, Holly Mears, Izzy Dean and Ella Harris all joining the squad. Commenting on the recruits, the captain said: "We've added quality to an already good side, quality side that obviously we just missed out last year, so then to add more, hopefully it can give us that extra boost and what we need to get the job done this year. "Some familiar faces that people might have played against, I've played on the same team as a few of his new signings and also played against them. I can definitely say you'd much rather have them on your team than playing against them. "I'm glad that they'll be wearing a Leeds badge this year and looking forward to seeing them in action."
