After yet another underwhelming batting display on day three in Darwin, Australia is staring at the prospect of just its second ever Test defeat to Bangladesh - and social media is loving every moment.
Still trailing Bangladesh by 67 runs with six second-inning wickets in hand, the much-maligned Cameron Green (43*) and ever-reliable Alex Carey (19*) largely carry Australia’s hopes of avoiding an embarrassing opening loss in the two-match home series.
Never ones to hold back, some of England’s more vocal cricket supporters are preparing to put in an all-nighter to death ride Australia into the Top End dirt.
While on the subcontinent plenty are also enjoying Australia’s struggles in a series most predicted the hosts would win comfortably in preparation for far sterner tests against South Africa, New Zealand and India.

Of course Australia did humble England 4-1 in the Ashes last summer, while England has just lost a home series 2-1 to New Zealand, so perhaps some of the gloating is a tad premature.
Regardless, it’s all to play for on day four at Marrara Stadium in Darwin with only a significant improvement from Australia’s remaining batters likely to see the match extend into a fifth day.
