South Dakota State announced its first non-conference men's basketball game of the 2026-27 season, with the Jackrabbits set to take on Green Bay at the Sanford Pentagon on Monday, Dec. 21, 2026. Game time and ticket information will be announced at a later date. South Dakota State is playing at the Pentagon for the seventh season in a row. The Jackrabbits own a 10-6 record all-time at Heritage Court. The Jacks went 14-18 overall and 7-9 in Summit League play in 2025-26, getting bounced in the Summit League tournament quarterfinals. “We are very excited for our game versus Green Bay in the Sanford Pentagon,” second-year head coach Bryan Petersen said. “We always enjoy playing in the great city of Sioux Falls in front of our Jackrabbit fans. Green Bay is coming off a strong season under Coach (Doug) Gottlieb. They’ve got their program going in the right direction and it’s one that is a quality, Midwest opponent. We’re really looking forward to the challenge and seeing all the SDSU blue in the Pentagon.” South Dakota State returns Joe Sayler, its leading scorer from last season. Kalen Garry also averaged over 10 points per game and is back in Brookings. Green Bay is led by Gottlieb, a former Oklahoma State star, and improved by 14 wins in 2025-26. The Phoenix went 18-15 a season ago and will be making their first trip to Sioux Falls. "I've played, coached, and broadcast from just about every arena in the country, but I have not experienced the Pentagon,” Gottlieb said. “We have great respect for the Jackrabbits and know we are walking into a snake pit, but we want to challenge ourselves — South Dakota State and the Pentagon are just that."
