Djed Spence has joined Inter Milan from Tottenham Hotspur after agreeing a five-year contract with the Serie A champions.
The 26-year-old England international moves to San Siro for a reported €30 million (£25.6m), bringing an end to his four-year spell with Spurs.
Spence leaves after a breakthrough 2025-26 campaign in which he made 44 appearances for Tottenham across all competitions. He also established himself as a regular part of England’s squad, playing in all eight of the Three Lions’ matches at this summer’s World Cup.
His departure comes as Tottenham reshape their options at full-back under Roberto De Zerbi. Pedro Porro recently extended his contract, while Andy Robertson has arrived from Liverpool, making competition for places increasingly difficult for Spence.

The former Middlesbrough defender had been expected to leave despite De Zerbi’s earlier attempts to persuade him to stay. He confirmed his departure on Saturday with a message to Tottenham supporters, thanking the club and describing his move as the beginning of a “new chapter”.
Spence joined Tottenham from Middlesbrough in 2022 for an initial £12.5m and went on to make 85 appearances for the club. His most significant achievement came in the 2024-25 season, when he helped Spurs win the Europa League.
Inter will be Spence’s second Italian club after his six-month loan spell at Genoa in 2024. He now becomes the second England international to arrive at Inter this summer, following John Stones’ move from Manchester City.
For Inter, the signing adds a versatile full-back to a squad that has already been strengthened with England’s Stones ahead of the new campaign.
