Aug. 13—EVERETT — Playing during the daylight hours on Thursday didn't make a difference for the Spokane Indians doldrums. Everett leadoff hitter Kobyn Dickerson went 2-for-5 with a home run and two RBIs and the AquaSox handled the Indians 7-1 in the third of a six-game High-A Northwest League series at Everett Memorial Stadium on Thursday. The fourth-place Indians (21-23) have lost each of the first three games of the series and eight of their last nine overall. Everett improved to 24-21 and is a half-game behind first-place Vancouver (24-20) pending the Canadians' late result. The AquaSox got to Indians starter Everett Catlett for two runs in the first. Dickerson singled, stole second, and scored on a single by Aiden Taurek. Later in the inning, Brandon Eike doubled over the head of Derek Bernard in right to knock in Luke Stevenson with the second run. Taurek and Eike drew consecutive walks from Catlett with one down in the third, then Roldy Brito broke in on Ricardo Cova's liner to center then watched it sail over his head for an RBI double. Dickerson's two-run homer in the fourth inning, his fourth of the season, made it 5-0. The Indians got on the board in the sixth. Ethan Hedges hit a one-out single, went to second on a wild pitch by reliever Sam Whiting, and scored on a two-out single by Tanner Thach (2-for-3). The Indians put runners at the corners with two down in the eighth, but Robert Calaz — mired in an 0-for-16 slump and hitting .144 (12-for-80) since July 1 — struck out to end the potential rally. Everett added two more in the bottom half on a two-run double by Austin St. Laurent off reliever Tyler Hampu, whose ERA rose to 9.26 in 26 appearances after the outing. Catlett (5-8, 5.40) completed six innings and allowed five runs on seven hits and four walks with three strikeouts. He threw 96 pitches, 49 for strikes. Mason Peters, the Seattle Mariners' fourth-round pick in last year's MLB draft, made his High-A debut after tearing up Low-A earlier this season. He went 31/3 shutout innings and allowed one hit and one walk with six strikeouts. Peters made 14 starts for Low-A Inland Empire, going 1-0 with a 1.43 ERA and 0.85 WHIP over 501/3 innings with 68 strikeouts. The series continues Friday at 7:05 p.m.
