The world No. 1 woke up during Round 2 of the 2026 St. Jude Championship. Now the rest of the FedEx Cup playoff gets to play a familiar game: Can anyone catch Scottie Scheffler?

The four-time PGA Tour Player of the Year tied the course record with his 9-under round of 61, vaulting him into the lead at 11 under. He's got a three-stroke lead over Sungjae Im and Viktor Hovland, as well as a four-stroke lead over Ludvig Åberg entering play today.

Im has put himself in great position to rise from the playoff bubble and into firm position to make the top 50 in the FedEx Cup standings and qualify for next week's BMW Championship. That is, if he maintains his place high up the leaderboard. Jordan Spieth, Keith Mitchell and Sudarshan Yellamaraju also can play their way into another week of golf, while Brian Harman needs to keep climbing to make his impressive leap from 65th coming into Memphis.
