St. Thomas Aquinas is all alone as the No. 1 team in Florida.
The Raiders received all 11 first-place votes in the USA Today Florida Network Super 25 heading into Week 1. Aquinas received eight first-place votes in the preseason poll.
Apparently, a dominant road win over a defending state champion in the Kickoff Classic was all the evidence voters needed to prove itself to the voters.
Aquinas raced out to a 36-0 halftime lead and beat Cardinal Mooney, the 2025 Class 3A state champion, 49-0 on Aug. 14.
IMG Academy, Chaminade-Madonna, Carol City and American Heritage round out the top five.
Three teams — Miami Palmetto (No. 21), Edgewater (No. 24) and Choctawhatchee (No. 25) — made their Super 25 debut on the Week 1 poll.
