Suzuki loan will pave way for Juventus to sign Alisson for free next summer

Juventus have a long-term plan for their goalkeeper position, but this summer they may need to activate a short-term solution. That is why the Bianconeri are keen to sign Zion Suzuki on loan once the Japanese goalkeeper completes his move to PSG from Parma.

Suzuki is regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in Serie A and has continued to prove his quality over the last few seasons. Juventus are doing everything possible to bring him to the club on loan after being priced out of a permanent transfer for his signature.

Suzuki Could Provide Short-Term Solution

The goalkeeper would reportedly welcome a loan move to Juventus, although some supporters could question why the club’s first-choice goalkeeper would arrive on a temporary deal. Juventus are one of the top clubs in the world, so relying on a loan player between the posts could appear unusual.

However, the proposed move appears to be part of a wider plan. According to Football Italia, Juventus could be taking a shortcut towards signing their preferred goalkeeper one year from now, allowing them to use Suzuki as a temporary solution before making their bigger move.

The goalkeeper Juventus ultimately wants is Alisson Becker of Liverpool. The Brazilian is regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in the game and was originally the player the Bianconeri wanted to sign.

Juventus Target Alisson Becker

Alisson did not move to Juventus this year, despite the expectation that he could become a free agent at the end of the season. That has led Juventus to consider another route towards eventually securing his signature.

The plan would see Suzuki spend the season in Turin before Juventus turn their attention towards Alisson once the loan spell ends. This would give the Bianconeri a goalkeeper they believe can perform at a high level in the short term while they wait for the opportunity to sign their preferred target.

For Juventus, the arrangement could therefore solve an immediate problem without changing their long-term ambitions. Suzuki would gain valuable experience at a major club, while the Bianconeri would retain their plans for Alisson.

If everything goes according to their plans, Juventus would then sign Alisson as a free agent after Suzuki’s loan spell ends. The Brazilian would become the goalkeeper they have wanted, while Suzuki would have provided an important temporary solution during the transition.
