Jayden Daniels has hit back against LSU after admitting he feels ‘profoundly disrespected’ by his former college.
At the heart of the frustrations is LSU’s decision to allow cornerback DJ Pickett to wear Daniels’ number five jersey after he became their third-ever Heisman winner.
LSU did not retire Daniels’ number five jersey; Pickett became the first player to wear that number since Daniels won the Heisman in 2023.
As a result, Daniels has now taken action and informed LSU they are no longer able to use his image, name or likeness.
It is a seriously drastic measure being taken by the Washington Commanders quarterback against his former college.
The news has not gone down well with NFL fans, with many feeling this is a bad look for a young QB who was so highly respected up to this point.

Daniels has announced himself as one of the most promising talents in the NFL, but his actions against his former college are unlikely to win him any fans.
The response from NFL fans across the nation is indicative of just that, with Daniels coming under scrutiny for the drastic response to LSU.
‘That’s a bad look for Jayden,’ replied one NFL fan on X.
Another fan even compared Daniels’ gripe with LSU to Joe Burrow: ‘Joe Burrow’s jersey number wasn’t even retired, so what makes him think his would be?’
Daniels enjoyed a seriously impressive 2024 rookie season, during which he caught the attention of many across the league.
His 2025 season was not so impressive after missing a number of games through injury.
However, there are some fans who are questioning whether this was a decision made by Daniels or his mother: ‘Did Jayden Daniels do this or was it his mom?!?’
‘What an odd and awful thing to do to your alma mater,’ added another fan.
‘This is such a weird thing to do,’ one fan even replied.
Having caused such a stir with his actions against LSU, Daniels has left himself no place to hide when the 2026 season officially gets underway.
