The Cowboys have several reasons to keep looking for help on the secondary, especially with a young group carrying significant responsibility. One veteran cornerback has now emerged as a name connected to Dallas.

The possible reunion has an obvious connection to the Cowboys’ coaching staff, but the idea has not exactly won over everyone in Dallas.

Cowboys Fans Push Back on Adoree’ Jackson Rumors

The player at the center of the discussion is Adoree’ Jackson, a former first-round pick who spent the 2025 season with the Philadelphia Eagles under current Cowboys defensive coordinator Christian Parker.

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported that Dallas has explored Jackson as a possible addition, with Parker’s previous relationship with the veteran corner making the connection particularly notable.

Jackson, originally selected by the Tennessee Titans in 2017, has also played for the New York Giants and Eagles. During 14 games with Philadelphia last season, including ten starts, he recorded 40 solo tackles, 11 passes defended, and one interception. Jackson’s 75.8 PFN Impact Grade ranked #56 among cornerbacks last season.

Still, a possible deal is far from certain.

Jackson has interest from multiple teams, while Calvin Watkins of The Dallas Morning News reported that his previous visit with Dallas did not result in a contract.

“Adoree’ Jackson visited the Cowboys back in May and had a good visit, but nothing on the horizon with the team right now, a source said,” Watkins wrote on X.

The Cowboys have close to $19 million in available cap space, so financial flexibility is not exactly a concern if they decide he fits what they’re trying to achieve this campaign.

But the uncertainty has not stopped Cowboys fans from weighing in, and the response has leaned skeptical.

Cowboys content creator Law Nation Media dismissed the possibility on X, writing, “Now, if the Cowboys pick up Adoree’ Jackson… that’s hustling backward, IMO. Y’all can keep him at the house.”

NFL analyst Jeff Cavanaugh wasn’t sold on the idea either, simply writing, “We have many Adoree Jacksons at home.”

Other reactions showed a similar lack of enthusiasm, though some fans viewed Jackson as an upgrade over the current options.

One Caleb Downs fan was willing to give the idea some credit, writing, “Better than Carson, I guess.” Meanwhile, another sounded less convinced and joked, “I’m going to have to delete A LOT of tweets if this happens.”

The reaction from one Carl Day was just as blunt. He wrote, “Nah … not interested,” making it clear he isn’t sold on the idea of Dallas bringing Jackson to town.

For now, the Cowboys, who ranked dead last in PFN NFL Defense Impact%20assigns,red%20zone%20and%20third%20downs.) for 2025, appear to be exploring possibilities rather than closing in on Jackson.

With DaRon Bland returning and young cornerbacks such as Cobie Durant and Shavon Revel Jr. in the mix, Dallas must decide whether Jackson’s experience and familiarity with Parker’s defense offer enough value to change the current equation.
