Ryan Fox is known as one of the quickest players on the PGA Tour and Sahith Theegala is no slouch either.

So when Fox and Theegala were first out on Sunday as a pairing for the final round of the FedEx St. Jude Championship, everyone knew they would fly around TPC Southwind.

The man from New Zealand is hugely admired by many golf fans and his fellow PGA Tour pros because of the incredible speed with which he plays the game.

Ryan Fox has enjoyed a superb year in 2026, winning his first major at The Open Championship last month.

And while he has never been in contention to win the FedEx St. Jude this week, he still drew a large crowd on Sunday in Memphis when playing alongside Sahith Theegala.

How long it took Ryan Fox and Sahith Theegala to play their final round at the FedEx St. Jude

Fox and Theegala were first out on Sunday morning, and were sitting on eight-over and 10-over par respectively as they teed off.

The New Zealander posted a fine final round score of 67, while the American carded a round of 71.

However, it was the speed with which they played their final round which drew the most attention.

It took them just three hours and one minute to finish 18 holes at TPC Southwind.

The second fastest round on Sunday was completed by Justin Rose and Akshay Bhatia (three hours and 44 minutes).

In an era where five and six hour rounds are commonplace, Fox and Theegala deserve huge credit for getting on with their jobs with the minimum of fuss.

Sure, neither player was in contention to win, but no other twosome came even remotely close to matching their time either.

Ryan Fox is the anti-slow play standard-bearer for the PGA Tour

The PGA Tour has a real problem with slow play.

At the next player meeting, everyone should be forced to sit and watch tapes of Ryan Fox and Sahith Theegala in action during the final round of the FedEx St. Jude Championship.

There was no unnecessary faffing around, nor were there any instances of either player using the AimPoint method on the greens.

Well done to both Fox and Theegala. It was genuinely refreshing to watch them play on Sunday in Memphis.

Hopefully the rest of the PGA Tour take a leaf out of the books of the New Zealander and the American moving forward.

I won’t be holding my breath, though.
