Shanmugam Kumaran Tharmalingam alias Selvarasa Pathmanathan alias Kumaran Pathmanathan, or simply ‘KP’, headed the ‘international secretariat’ of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam and was its arms procurer. He took the leadership of the LTTE after V. Prabakaran was killed in May 2009. Arrested and taken to Sri Lanka two years ago, he is now in detention in Colombo.
