Cameron Green scored an unbeaten century in Australia's second innings against Bangladesh on Day 4 at Darwin's Marrara Stadium. The 26-year-old made 104 off 201 deliveries to notch his third Test century, though the innings merely delayed the final result. Bangladesh defeated Australia by nine wickets in Darwin, but Green's unbeaten hundred stood as a notable individual effort during a difficult match for the home side.

Adam Gilchrist praised Green's performance, acknowledging the weight of expectation the batter carries. Gilchrist noted that Green is a big man who shoulders significant responsibility and has had considerable expectations placed upon him throughout his career.

"He is a big man who shoulders a lot of responsibility. He has had a lot of expectations on him. There is a blueprint there for Cameron Green to follow and look to execute now. It is one of the positive stories out of what has been a really tough match for the Australians," said Gilchrist as quoted by Fox Cricket.

O'Keeffe sees long-term Test future for Green

Kerry O'Keeffe also backed Green's approach and construction during the innings. O'Keeffe observed that Green had demonstrated excellent technique and had displayed the rhythm of a number five batter, with the way he constructed the innings being a positive sign for his future in Test cricket.

"Cameron Green has been brilliant. He had the rhythm of a number five (and) the way he's constructed this innings is a good thing going forward. If he gets his mental side right, he has the capacity to bat five and score big, but then, when Steve Smith moves on, to bat at four and be a real player for Australia. The inner sanctum have always believed he fits and you can sense a long career ahead of him now," O'Keeffe said.

Speaking about the match, Bangladesh recorded a nine-wicket win over Australia. It was Bangladesh's first Test victory on Australian soil. Bangladesh had not played a Test in Australia for 23 years before this series. Australia, who were the current World Test Championship table-toppers at the time, were bowled out for 198 in their first innings.

Bangladesh put on a total of 428 in response and restricted the Aussies to a total of 284 in their second innings. Bangladesh chased down the 57-run target with nine wickets in hand, completing one of the most significant results in their Test history.
