Oklahoma coach Brent Venables gestures as he leaves the field following a college football game between the University of Oklahoma Sooners (OU) and the LSU Tigers at Gaylord Family – Oklahoma Memorial Stadium in Norman, Okla., Saturday, Nov. 29, 2025. Oklahoma won 17-13.

Oklahoma is tracking for another terrific recruiting class in the 2028 cycle. Rivals had a big feature on that early in the week.

You can read that here.

Reaction has since continued to come in.

Franklin (Tenn.) Battle Ground Academy’s blue-chip offensive tackle Koehn Dial is one of the Sooners top targets. The No. 10 offensive tackle in the land per the Rivals300 is equally as high on playing for Brent Venables, offensive line coach Bill Bedenbaugh and the Sooners.

“Norman has a really good community and a great college town vibe and has really good food,” Dial said. The nation’s No. 79 prospect overall will see Oklahoma play twice during the season, once in Athens on the road at Georgia and then at home against Ole Miss.

“Coach Venables is an old-school coach who really focuses on developing his players, which really stands out to me. Then their offensive line coach, Coach Bedenbough he is a honest coach who knows how to put linemen in the league. Lastly the Sooners are a blue blood program that knows how to win.”

Other top contenders for Dial include Ohio State and LSU.

The nation’s No. 8 tight end Ridge Janes out of St. Louis (Mo.) De Smet is another strongly considering Oklahoma as the season approaches. He’ll be back in Norman on Halloween.

“Coach Venables is awesome and I am very excited to watch Oklahoma play this year, they are high on my list,” Janes said. “I also have a great relationship with Coach (Jason) Witten and I really like how he and all the OU coaches and players have a great overall culture. They seem very dedicated to being successful in winning on and off the field.”

Denton (Texas) Guyer Rivals Industry four-star defensive lineman Logan Lokey is trending to Oklahoma on the Rivals Prediction Machine.

“What stands out about OU is the family atmosphere they’ve created along with the pursuit of greatness and their plan to get therem and just the elite coaching staff with Coach (Miguel) Chavis and (Todd) Bates.”

Oklahoma has a Top 10 class in 2027 and look to be well on its way to another in 2028.
