Participants will receive a complimentary hot dog, drink and commemorative finisher medal. This year's medal recognizes Buckeye Career Center's 50th anniversary. Additional medals will be awarded to the top 10 finishers in each race and trophies will be presented to school district team champions.
Course spans campus
Race Penguin will provide official timing for the event.
The cross-country course travels throughout the Buckeye Career Center campus and was designed and prepared by students in the Energy Operations program. The route includes grassy sections, areas near student-maintained ponds, a wooded section that will be clearly marked and paved pathways leading to the finish line.
Buckeye Career Center students and staff will serve as course monitors throughout the event.
Activities
Refreshments will be available for runners after they finish, and participants can take part in career-connected activities hosted by Buckeye Career Center students.
A concession stand also will be open inside the school cafeteria.
Although participation is free, organizers encourage runners to pre-register before Sept. 3 through runsignup.com or Buckeye Career Center's website.
