Tottenham Hotspur Are Eyeing A Move For This Ligue 1 Youngster: One For The Future?

In a recent report, journalist Graeme Bailey mentioned that Tottenham Hotspur are eyeing a move for Lille youngster Matias Fernande-Pardo this summer. It has been claimed that Spurs are facing competition from Atletico Madrid and Manchester City in the race to land the Belgian talent in this transfer window.

Fernandez-Pardo’s Rapid Rise In French Football

Fernandez-Pardo managed to shine at times for Lille in the previous campaign as he produced a string of impressive performances for them in the final third. The 21-year-old found the back of the net eight times and earned five assists in 29 appearances for the French club last season.

The Belgian whizkid is currently among the best young playmakers in Ligue 1. Therefore, it is no wonder that Spurs are trying to get him on board this month.

His current deal at Lille will run out in the summer of 2029, which could make it tough for Tottenham to sign him on the cheap this off-season.

Tottenham Hotspur Are Eyeing A Move For Fernandez-Pardo: Is He A Prospect For The Future?

Fernandez-Pardo is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet and can make a few dangerous runs with it in and around the opponent’s penalty area. He can shoot the ball with venom from long range and has the vision to engineer a few promising chances for his teammates to find the back of the net.

The Belgian talent can chip in by scoring and creating a handful of crucial goals for his team. Fernandez-Pardo is primarily a striker but can also operate as a winger or play in the number ten position if needed. However, only time will tell whether he can make a smooth transition to life in the Premier League if Spurs manage to get a deal done for him this month.

We can expect Fernandez-Pardo to improve the quality of Tottenham head coach Roberto De Zerbi’s attack. He is capable of fighting for a regular first-team spot at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the coming seasons.

At 21, Fernandez-Pardo is undoubtedly a prospect to watch out for in the future. Hence, Spurs would be wise to go all out to bring him to England before the end of this transfer window.
