Ben Shelton’s girlfriend, Trinity Rodman, recently shared behind-the-scenes details of her Canadian Open visit that sparked speculation online that Shelton was cheating on her. Rodman surprised Shelton before his match against Joao Fonseca and caught the moment on video, but the clip has inadvertently caused a stir.
Rodman joined Kylie Kelce on her podcast “Not Gonna Lie” and reflected on the moment. Shelton seemed visibly shocked and quickly closed the door, before reopening it with a smile and embracing the USWNT star.
Rodman, however, was left stunned when she found out that some fans had speculated online that Shelton was cheating on her. This prompted Rodman to clear the air once and for all by revealing that there was nobody else in the room besides Shelton and herself.
Kelce said:
“That’s it when you surprised ben people are very scarred from the couch kid.”
Rodman responded:
“Literally I’m like, ‘oh my gosh he’s so shocked,’ and I look at the comment section it’s like he’s cheating on you, there’s a girl there’s someone in there all right there wasn’t anyone in his room if y’all are wondering.”
Rodman was also present during Shelton’s match against Fonseca, and was caught on camera gasping with excitement when Shelton hit a massive forehand winner.
Ben Shelton Confirmed to Play Against Nakashima Despite Injury Scare
Ben Shelton is all set to defend his title on Thursday against Brandon Nakashima, despite suffering an injury during his semifinal match against Learner Tien.
During the match, Shelton crashed into the advertising boards. His left elbow was cut and later treated by a medical professional before they could let the match continue.
Shelton has shrugged off the injury scare, and the reigning Canadian Open champ is now geared up to bag a sixth win against Nakashima. Their most recent meeting was at Montreal last year, where Shelton won in three sets.
