Trump says Iran has sought ceasefire, sets condition on Hormuz Strait

US President Donald Trump said Iran’s new leadership has asked Washington for a ceasefire, according to a post on Truth Social. Trump said the United States would consider the request only after the Strait of Hormuz is reopened for shipping, warning that US strikes would continue until the key maritime route is clear.
