The Toronto Blue Jays haven't had a good 2026 season, and yet, they're still somehow in the postseason hunt thanks to an incredibly weak American League.
But one of the main reasons why they've played so poorly this season compared to expectations is Vladimir Guerrero Jr.'s struggles. Things have gone so poorly for Guerrero Jr. that he's made a feat of personal history that's hard to believe.
As USA Today's Bob Nightengale shared, Guerrero on Monday has officially reached 365 days without hitting a home run at home at the Rogers Centre. It has been one full year since Blue Jays fans last saw their superstar hit a homer in Toronto during the regular season.

"It will be the one-year anniversary Monday, Aug. 17, of Vladimir Guerrero Jr.'s last home run at Rogers Centre in Toronto, if you can believe it," Nightengale writes. "Guerrero, entering Saturday, has now gone 329 plate appearances at home without hitting a single homer."
This season, Guerrero has hit just seven home runs, a paltry number compared to the previous seasons of his MLB career, especially his 48-homer 2021 season.
In 59 games at home this season, across 218 at-bats, Guerrero is hitting .257 with a .645 OPS, compared to a .269 average with a .742 OPS on the road. But the more glaring issue is his zero homers at home, compared to seven on the road.
Last season, on August 17, Guerrero hit a home run in a 10-4 loss to the Texas Rangers. In the next 18 home games that season, he didn't hit a homer. And through 59 games this season, that streak has continued.

It's now been 365 days since Guerrero hit a home run at the Rogers Centre during the regular season. For a superstar meant to be a power-hitter, that's a very worrying streak to set.
But if counting the playoffs, Guerrero last hit a homer at Rogers Centre on October 19 during Game 6 of the ALCS. He has a little over two months to go until he reaches a full year since Blue Jays fans last saw any kind of HR from Guerrero in his home ballpark.
Still, this 365-day regular-season drought at home for Guerrero is a wild one to reach. It's hard to believe that someone who's been such a good power hitter in his career has put together such a bleak streak.
Since he's currently on the 7-day concussion injured list, Guerrero's HR drought at home is going to grow even further. He will have 15 more chances to hit a homer at home this season, beginning with a series on August 25 against the Kansas City Royals.
