The Golden State Warriors have made some questionable decisions over the past few years, and considering how poor their roster currently looks on paper, it wouldn't be surprising to see them go in a similar direction.
Right now, the Warriors are in a situation where they have to take a chance, even if it doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Among the players the Warriors could’ve been interested in, free agent shooting guard Bradley Beal should’ve been on that list.
Beal has shown throughout parts of his career that he can be an above-average player, while other times have suggested that he's not anything close to what he once was.
The unfortunate reality for the Warriors, however, is that they can't be too picky, which is why the suggestion that they should’ve made a play for the former superstar makes some sense. Beal later took a deal to return to the Los Angeles Clippers.
“The Warriors were reportedly interested in Bradley Beal before he joined the L.A. Clippers last offseason, but there's been no links this summer since the three-time All-Star opted out of his player option and entered free agency again.
“The question remains on what version of Beal we'll see moving forward, having averaged only 8.2 points on less than 38% shooting from the floor in six games last season before season-ending hip surgery,” Peter O’Keefe wrote.
As O'Keefe touched on here, the bigger thing for the Warriors is what type of player they would’ve gotten. It’s likely that Golden State didn’t want to take that risk.
