The Washington Huskies football program was one of 10 to make the cut for coveted Servite High School linebacker Allen Kennett V.
The 6-foot-1, 220-pound junior is ranked as the No. 197 overall prospect in the 2028 class and the No. 10 linebacker by 247Sports. Recently, he revealed nine game-day visits Kennett is expected to take this fall; all have made his top ten, plus the Huskies.
Kennett included California, Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, UCLA, USC and UW on his list. This past offseason, Kennett transferred from Santa Margarita Catholic High School to Servite, which has produced several notable former Husky players, including wide receiver Terrell Bynum and linebacker Jacob Manu.
Linebackers coach Brian Odom extended an offer to Kennett on May 14. Since then, several other schools have joined the hunt to secure the California native, including Georgia Tech, Kentucky, Michigan, and UNLV, pushing his offer list to nearly two dozen programs.
As a sophomore at Santa Margarita Catholic, the four-star recruit made 69 total tackles, 7 for loss, with 2 sacks and an interception over 11 games after switching from playing primarily on offense as a freshman.
The Huskies have made significant strides at linebacker since Odom joined the program—both on the field and in recruiting—after former coach Robert Bala left for Florida.
UW is expected to lose at least one, if not multiple, starting linebackers after this coming season, which opens the door for underclassmen to make a rise similarly to sophomore Zaydrius Rainey-Sale over his first 18-plus months with the program.
